The
Medical Assisting Club at Broome Community College promotes the
Medical Assisting profession and provides caring and interactive
service to the community.
The club serves a two-fold purpose, to help raise the public
knowledge and education of the professional medical assistants
and to encourage the participation of the student body in an organization
that will enhance and promote the profession in school and after
graduation. It serves as an introduction to the professional affiliations
that students would need to participate in after graduation.
Examples
of community service events in which club members have participated
in the past include: various fund-raising walks, such as the MS
and Diabetes Walks, adoption of a family for Thanksgiving or Christmas,
and raising contributions for CHOW. All students enrolled in the
Medical Assisting or related programs are welcome to participate
in the Club activities. |
