Where to Look for Job Postings:
Broome Community College advertises vacant positions via newspaper in the Sunday edition of the Press & Sun-Bulletin. Employment opportunities are listed with the New York State Job Service. Announcements of job openings are also available electronically at http://www.pressconnects.com/ and http://www.labor.state.ny.us/. Faculty and administrative announcements are also available at http://www.higheredjobs.com/. Vacancy notices are posted on the bulletin board outside the Human Resources Office, 103 Wales Administration Building as well as other bulletin boards located throughout the campus.
Civil Service Classified & Competitive Positions:
With very few exceptions, support staff positions at the college fall under the regulations of Civil Service and its competitive testing requirements for appointment. Examination announcements and information are available from the Broome County Department of Personnel, third floor, County Office Building, Governmental Plaza, Binghamton, New York, (607) 778-2185. Examination announcements are posted on campus on the bulletin board outside the Human Resources Office, Wales 103. Civil Service examination and vacancy notices, as well as examination applications, are available online from the employment section of the Broome County website at www.gobroomecounty.com.
Candidate Notification:
Candidates applying for advertised employment opportunities at Broome Community College will be acknowledged via postcard from the Human Resources Office. Candidates will receive no further communication from the college unless they are designated a finalist for the position for which they have applied.
