Career Options
  • EARLY CHILDHOOD
Early childhood teachers lay the foundation for later learning through enriched language experiences that lead to early literacy skills (not reading but knowing and loving books). Childhood (primary), middle and adolescent teachers introduce students to language, science, numbers and social studies. Teachers work with students in specific subject areas, organize and manage a classroom, assess students and interact with families and the community. In addition to classroom time, teachers prepare lessons, grade papers and continue to learn through professional development activities. They use computers, games, music, films, slides, field trips and other tools to teach important life-long skills.
  • TEACHER EDUCATION
