Approximately fifty courses have been designated "writing
emphasis" ("W") offerings. In these courses, writing
about the subject matter being studied is an integral part both
of the learning process and the course objectives. To fulfill General
Education requirements, students must complete 2 writing emphasis
("W") courses. These "W" courses are typically taken after completing ENG 110 and before enrolling in ENG 220. Please check with your advisor when you should take your W courses. Students should consult the Master Schedule at each registration
period, as well as their advisors, in choosing "W" courses.

Writing
Emphasis Module
The independently arranged "w" course module is intended
for students preparing to graduate who, through oversight or scheduling
problems, lack the required two "W" (writing-emphasis)
courses. Transfer Students who have completed general education
courses at another institution but not in "W" modes could
avail themselves of the "W" module to fulfill "W"
requirements, in some instances. "Hardship" cases for
a "W" module shall be limited to students in their last
semester who intend to graduate and who have met all other graduation
requirements at the end of that semester. This module is not intended
to act as a substitute for a department's or curriculum's "W"
course. It does not exempt students from trying to fulfill "W"
requirements. |
