SUNY Learning Network (SLN)
Broome Community College is a member of the SUNY Learning Network (SLN), sponsored by the State University of New York. SLN is an active consortium offering distance learning opportunities for professional and personal development. This consortium allows SLN to provide its students with a Help Desk 7 days a week. SLN is one of the largest providers of online college courses in the United States.

How do I know if my computer system is adequate?
From the computer you will be using to do your coursework, go to the SLN Website and click on "students." Click on the "test your system" link. Some courses have additional hardware and software requirements, which are stated in the course description.
How do I get a password?
Registration for SLN Courses is a two-step process.
- Register at BCC. Click here for more information.
- Go to the SUNY Learning Network, click on "students," and click on "create SLN account."SLN does not process enrollments until 2 weeks prior to the official course start date.
How do I access my course?
- From the computer you will be using to do your coursework, go to the SLN website at http://sln.suny.edu/index.html.
- Click on students and enter the username and password given to you at registration. Some courses have additional hardware and software requirements, which are stated in the course description.
- When you are logged in, your course should be listed. Complete the Student Orientation and then click on your course to begin. In most cases you can access your course one week before the official start of classes. Many courses have pre-course activities available to get you accustomed to and comfortable with the on-line environment before classes start. It is important that you go through these steps before the start of the semester.
